The Beginning

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

— Mary Oliver

“What’s your story?” As a brown skinned Asian girl with an Irish last name and southern roots, I got used to sparking a natural curiosity within the person or people I would meet throughout my life. My sheer presence and utterance of my name often resulted in a confused look in the person meeting me for the first time. As a kid, it bothered me because I just wanted to belong and fit in; however, I quickly realized that it was my unique story that made me, well… me. It was my story that I had been rehearsing since I learned how to talk. I grew up in southeast Asia in an interracial family and developed a unique perspective and a deep desire to understand and connect with people everywhere I went. With every personal question I answered, I didn’t know it at the time but I was practicing my story-telling skills in front of a real live audience in a wide variety of scenarios. Life works in mysterious ways. Opportunities present themselves and it’s our responsibility to recognize the opportunities we feel most passionate about and pursue them. Work is not a job if it’s what you love to do. My passion for and commitment to education and sports have instilled the importance of self-knowledge, self-advocacy and self-worth. I have been presented with an opportunity to parlay, “What’s your story?”, the question that has been asked of me my entire life into a business. I look forward to working with you and your family.
